Celebrate Moms!

 Welcome back crafty friends!

April flew by and it's May already.  Why do these months go by so quickly and winter seems to hang around forever?  The month of May is for celebrating many, but especially Moms.  I personally think moms should be celebrated every day!

The Double D has a new challenge starting today and the theme is "Pretty Florals for Mom".  They have a lovely mood board for inspiration and a prize to one lucky person.

I pulled out some of my older die cuts for this card...

Happy Mother's Day

I went with an all white layered background for these pretty flowers.  They remind me of the asters in my flower bed.   Although mine are purple, I couldn't resist this beautiful coral color against the white.

From my stash...
Bazzille Roselle Cardstock
Catherine Pooler Black Jack Ink
Doodlebug Bumblebee Glitter Sprinkles
Marianne Designs Branch Forest Creatable
My Color Snowbound Cardstock
Paper Smooches All Year Cheer Stamp

Best Day Ever

 Welcome crafty friends!

There's a new challenge starting today at the Double D Challenge Blog.  The theme is anything "Water Related" (Ocean, rain, waterfall, etc.).  They're sharing a beautiful mood board and a prize to one entry chosen by random draw.

BEST DAY EVER

I made a flat shaker card for this challenge.  The arched window shape is new to me and I thought it would make a great embellishment on a summer scrapbook layout if not as a card.  I adhered additional stickers, sequins and chipboard pieces to the background paper before adding the frame.  The window is transparency attached to the frame and then adhered to the background with foam tape.  The additional chipboard pieces were glued to the outside of the frame and the sentiment banner is adhered with foam tape for dimension also.

Live in full BLOOM

Today I'm sharing a page that is the beginning of a new mixed media journal that I'm working on.  I used remaining papers from a CTMH collection that have been in my stash for a while.  The newsprint paper made for a great background on this page.

Live in full BLOOM

I fussy cut the film strip, added dimension and used it as the border.  The light bulb, leaf and flowers surrounding the quote are from the same paper.

The butterfly stamp is also CTMH from a set I purchased years ago.  I gave it some shine with a clear shimmer pen.  There are several stenciled areas using the awesome stencil butter from TCW.  Best stenciling paste ever!  I used several distress inks to add a little color to the paste after it dried.

The title quote has added dimension along with the border strip.  I spattered diluted Viva gold over the page.

From my stash...
Catherine Pooler Black Jack Ink
Cocoa Vanilla These Days Sticker Words
CTMH Full Bloom Collection
CTMH Butterfly Wings Stamp
TCW Mini Tiny Circles Stencil
TCW Pearl White Stencil Butter
TH Gathered Twigs Distress Ink
TH Iced Spruce Distress Ink
TH Lost Shadow Distress Ink
Viva Perle Pen Gold
Other: Washi tape
CTMH Sheer Brush Clear

I hope to add to this journal on a regular basis and have it finished by the end of 2024!
Thanks for stopping by today.

What's Moo?

 Welcome crafty friends!

So excited that April is here! For me, that means getting outside to work on my flower beds.  I can hardly wait until it's time to plant a few annuals among the perennials.  I love walking through the greenhouses at our local farm stand.  It's always a difficult decision of what and how much to buy because I want it all!

There's a new challenge up at the Double D with a fun theme of "Cute Little Animals".

They're sharing this mood board and offering a prize to one lucky winner chosen by random draw along with choosing Creative Winners.

Stampendous Cling Rubber Stamp

I'm not a huge stamper and rely on die cuts and other ephemera when creating cards.

"What's moo with you?"

This was a real challenge for me.  I used my die cuts and a cute 3-D embellishment in my stash to create this card. The sentiment bubble was computer generated on a program that I've had for many years.

From my stash...
Authentique Cheerful Six Paper
Doodlebug Black Buttons
Doodlebug Doodle Pops, What's Moo
49 & Market VA Countryside Chipboard Set
My Colors Cardstock Red Cherry
Simple Stories Farmhouse Gardens Hearts
The Greetery Ship Lap Builder

Just A Little Note

 Hey crafty friends!

Just popping in for a quick hello and to share this easy peasy card using washi tape and die cuts.

JUST A LITTLE NOTE

This A2 card front is strictly washi tape adhered to a cardstock backing.  How gorgeous are the colors and images on this repositionable fabric tape from 49 & Markets Kaleidoscope Collection designed by Katie Pertiet?  Just one piece of tape, a few die cuts, stamped sentiment and voila, this easy peasy card!
